Bokashi Composting – I need Wheat Germ

I have done Bokashi composting for years but I’m tired of paying ridiculous prices for Bokashi. No-one locally appears to sell it so I have to pay freight/postage which doubles my cost.
Finally I have purchased a litre of EM-1 so I can make my own mix. Who would have guessed my problem now is sourcing wheat germ. I can get it from the supermarket but surely there are other places that sell it in bulk (say 5-10kg lots).
I live in Brisbane – anyone know of anywhere? I really don’t want to spend my money at Coles
Here’s a link for everyone to make their own EM too
Plain label wheat germ in the stupermarket is pretty cheap use the money you saved on making your own EM.
You could try buying a bag of Pollard from a produce store- its very similar in texture to wheatgerm.
I’ve been doing Bokashi for a couple of years now and use clean sawdust. Or find any other cheap/free carbon powder.
Here’ my page I did for some friends to show how easy and inexpensive it can be. First method is similar to the previous reply but I’ve experimented and evolved it.
(You can jump to the bottom for the mega easy version I use now days)
