Can someone please tell me what month is it possible to take a cutting from an apple tree?
Hmmm, not really sure, but I”d wait until July, or when ever it is cold in your parts.. Maybe when he tree has lost all it’s leaves and the sap has slowed down..
There is usually a grafting day at a nearby heritage pear orchard early August. http://south-gippsland.com/toora-pear-orchard.htm The chap who runs it (forgotten his name and can’t find his cd) is an apple fanatic and so knowledgable and helpful, you can get scions of dozens of varieties of apples/pears/plums etc and he will demonstrate multi grafts.
My grafts aren’t too successful as it is so windy here (my excuse) but the ones he did for me are doing well. I am going to try bud grafting citrus, pears and apples this spring to overcome the wind factor (hopefully).
I take it you are planning to take a cutting for a graft to another variety?
I suggest waiting until spring is well under way when sap is flowing, and the host tree is activley growing.
Best of luck
