I’ve woking through the flow of energies in an integrated animal/plant system for the past few weeks. Attempting to see the flow clearly. For anyone who’s interested, figures 211 and 212 in the following link are enlightening:
I would also like to hear from anyone also working along these lines.
The diagram looks like similar ones in Bill Mollison’s work and maybe worth having a look at in regards to input/output energies. I have to reread the research material befor I fully digest it though – sorry.:shy:
I’ve modified the flow chart to better suit my needs. You can view it at http://shipleyfarm.tripod.com/id5.html. The idea of using fish which means water doesn’t seem a goer in our climate. Excess worms can be fed to the chooks and quail, worm castings go on to the vegies or paddocks direct or as a liquid manure tea.
Checkout the backyard aquaponics website. It’s an extremely well integrated system. I think this would get round the water problem.
