Ravyk is on FB, and I let her know this morning, I think she is busy that weekendMarch 10, 2014 at 7:14 pm #535266RavykMember
What the? My response completely disappeared!
Anyway, I’m up that way that weekend because it’s our first wedding anniversary and we’re staying at Saunders Gorge. We might be able to pop in briefly for a chat between visiting the market and going 4wding.
I’d love some comfrey too Vanessa, let me know what I can give you in return. I may also have some jars lying around somewhere.
Slightly off topic, but does anyone know of a good spot to camp up that way? Camping isnt open at Mt Crawford or at Saunder’s Gorge [because of the fire that went through].March 10, 2014 at 10:44 pm #535267
There used to be camping in the forest, I think closer to Williamstown, but not sure if they have changed that, it was probably about 15 years ago that I am remembering.
not before 31st MarchMarch 10, 2014 at 11:41 pm #535268
I’m aiming for a 1.30 – 2.00ish kick-off for the GTG. How does that suit people? I’ll be pretty flex re timings as I have no other plans that day. PM me if you’re coming and need my address/directions.March 13, 2014 at 12:53 am #535269

mummyjas – don’t waste babysitting credit – I love kids and would be happy to have yours here! I’ll have my own DD9 and DS7 here and they love helping look after little ones too.
Likewise for others with kids – the more the merrier! I think we’ll give soap-making a miss because I won’t feel safe doing it with my kids around and DH won’t be here to help supervise.
Anyone keen on bringing stuff to swap/share?
And should we all do a plate of afternoon tea?March 14, 2014 at 12:37 am #535270IdunaMember
I wont be able to make it, I’m getting a cortisone injection into my elbow on the Friday so I won’t be able to do any driving going by how it went last time for me.
Maybe next time.March 14, 2014 at 1:34 am #535271

Look forward to meeting you mummyjas. I would love some parsley please – seeds or plants if you have them as well 🙂March 14, 2014 at 1:58 pm #535273
I have heaps of self seeded rocket coming up, about to go out and pick some for our Garden and Produce Share, so will be able to check how much DP mowed the other day. I’ll try to get some comfrey dug up and potted up this weekend, and will see what else I can find to shareMarch 15, 2014 at 11:00 am #535274froot_loopzMember
I wont be able to come. Have a great one everyoneMarch 15, 2014 at 11:43 am #535275
Ok looking around my garden I should be able to bring some Comfrey, and I also have Arrowroot which looks like it might be able to be divided.
I also have rocket seed which looking at my yard, I don’t think I will ever need to plant another rocket seed at this place ever!
I also have myoporum (native ground cover) which needs to be trimmed and would make good cuttings.
Is anyone interested in any of these?March 15, 2014 at 3:16 pm #535276

I can’t believe it’s happening this Saturday already! DD13 and I will be there, I’ll bring some afternoon tea, water kefir grains for Vanessa and can bring some herb cuttings / small bits potted up if anyone wants some:
I am about to pull out the entire wormwood bush that has taken over my herb garden. It is meant to be good flea deterrent when put in chook runs / roosts. I’ve strewn it in my dog’s house but don’t think it made much difference other than giving the area a pleasant scent! If anyone wants some of the branches I can set them aside to bring. They can be grown from cuttings so I’ve included it in the list above.
I’ve got heaps of sunflower seeds too, from ones we grew ourselves in a previous summer. Not all of them are viable so they could be a bit hit and miss. I’ve got some other seeds I’ll bring along as well.
Bel, is it possible to get directions to pick some of the hawthorn berries while we’re up that way? I’ve been reading up on it since your other post looking for plant id, and would love to add them to my cordial and jelly making. I might check out the “Ripe Near Me” website again and see if there’s anything else worth stopping for on the way up there!March 19, 2014 at 6:26 pm #535278froot_loopzMember
I wish I could get up there, but maybe next time if its accessible by public transport.
have a good one everyone.March 19, 2014 at 7:24 pm #535279mudhenMember
So sorry to hear you can’t make it, froot_loopz! Hopefully we’ll see you next time 🙂
