Well, maybe not a year…..
If you remember the plot our hero was set to go part time (3 days a week) to have more time to do the stuff that really counts, but then something appeared to come up and cause a derailment.
After considerable up-in-the-airishness it seems extemely likely that at the end of August I will be going no-time rather than part time. Yep, I’ve been made redundant! We are in the middle of preparations and picking up any heavy supplies, because the company car will go too. It has been an interesting time.
By my calculations we should be able to last a year on what we have saved, but I will be looking around after Christmas to see what is out there. So now I will have the whole week to do the stuff that really counts:D

Wow Wombat. That’s huge news. I hope everything works out man.
I reckon it will give you time to do some cool projects though … Wonder whether you will actually go back to work or whether you’ll become a genius inventor 😉August 16, 2010 at 3:22 am #473805
I am sure you will be just fine Nev, it will all work out for you.. all the best :hug:August 16, 2010 at 3:50 am #473806

when one door closes another always opens, just we are often too busy looking at the closed door to notice the new open one. But I’m sure that won’t be you, all will be well.August 16, 2010 at 4:51 am #473808
Ave a goMember
Long time no speak.

Is that just what you’re telling Mrs Wombat?
…. On a serious note, if you get stuck or need a hand just yell out!August 16, 2010 at 5:06 am #473809

Hopefully this will be a blessing in disguise, Nev – M was made redundant last year and it was actually pretty good. We lived on the payout for a few months and he got another job around the time the money started to run out, so it worked out well. At least with the payment you can take some time to get something you really want rather than having to just rush into another job.
All the best! think of all the stuff you’ll be able to get up to when pesky work doesn’t take up your valuable time!!August 16, 2010 at 6:30 am #473811
Agree with above Wombat – hope it gives you time to smell the roses. I’m at the other end of the spectrum – hanging out to go back to work after too long studying.August 16, 2010 at 6:35 am #473812

Hmmm…ever thought of writing a book? You know so much, and now you have a year funded to do it??? Then the book will support you after that…coz we will ALL want to buy a copy!! 😉August 16, 2010 at 7:37 am #473813
best of luck, wombat. :tup:August 17, 2010 at 2:42 am #473814
