Hooray! I’m back online, and good guessing Shangri La!
Have you worked out yet what the Vacola tool is? I had no idea when I bought it, but it’s amazing what you can find out from a Google image search. It’s a tool for pitting peaches, which I imagine would be especially handy for clingstone peaches, which I have always found especially painful to deal with. I’m thinking now (a bit belatedly) that you quite likely don’t have access to lots of peaches on the sunshine coast (sorry!) but they do make some good tropical varieties now if you ever decide to plant one!
Thanks also to Lady B for stepping in for me this week!September 19, 2010 at 11:15 am #473366TamandcoMember
Mt Gardiner, are you my swap buddy?September 19, 2010 at 9:50 pm #473367Shangri LaMember
Thank very much mudhen – great choices!! I did look on ebay for the vacola tool but didn’t find it – so thank you. We do get a few peaches but they are usually a big disappointment – hard and dry as if they have removed all the juice prior to freighting! I could probably use it on mangoes and avocadoes as it is very sharp.
Haven’t seen a post from my sb yet – wondering if they received their swap??September 20, 2010 at 6:25 am #473368ErthgirlMember

Dear Swap Buddy
When I said I was ready to send your gift off a week or two ago, what I apparently meant was: “I’m about to injure my back & be unable to get to the post office for a wee while.” I’m very, very sorry. However, I have sent your parcel off today & you should get it next week. Again, I’m terribly sorry for the delay…but on the bright side – at least you’ll easily be able to work out who sent it to you!
Big hugs & hope you enjoy it.September 21, 2010 at 10:00 am #473370HerbmanMember

Mine arrived!! Books and more books, some lovely incense and a burner for same, a drawstring bag (or is it a 2 year olds mobcap?) and a bun warmer trivet, place in oven then use to warm your bun.
I’m guessing Tamandco ?? or if it was Epiphany it was very quick. Photo later, my computer is in the sick bay, and DH’s is not yet photo literate.September 24, 2010 at 11:13 am #473376BangersMember
Got mine from the post office yesterday. A book on basic carpentry – perfect for the next project which is aset of bookshelves – and a book called Going Native which looks like a brilliant read – I’ll start this as soon as I finish my current book “The World according to Monsanto :@”
At a guess my Buddy was redhen2 – but whoever sent me my present, thankyou, I’m very happy!

Thanks Tam, gonna have to work on my candlemaking supplies real soon now, lots of lovely ideas in that one. And the craft book has some gorgeous little felt animals.
Pity we can’t stand on a street corner with a hat and collect all the time people wasted…September 25, 2010 at 12:08 am #473379Lady BeeKeymaster
I’ve got to get new glasses. I thought you were talking about a BUM warmer. 😆
