We are looking at building a barn shed home on our block and we are looking for peoples experience of this.
We are looking for a cheap building solution that we can finish ourselves from lockup in the great southern WA.
We really want to move onto our block and start our new life.
thanks

Re: anyone built a barn shed house ? 1 year 1 week ago #344674
4gypsy we have done this but got a shed not a barn, with the shed we got higher pitch so it looked like a house roof.
Our daughter has done a quaker barn.
It is certainly the cheapest way to build, we done all the internal ourselves, 3 bedroom all big, bathroom & toilet combined, big laundry, lounge, kitchen, dining area, all open plan. the home is 18metres long x 7.5 wide, it would have worked better had it been a bit wider.
We have stamped concrete floors, so no floor covering to worry about no plaster all lined in murry pine or normal pine plus corrugated iron and mini orb in the bathroom, verandahs front and back.
I love it, think i would have trouble living in a normal home now.
