Okay I'm in serious pain here . I need some tried and true treatments/cures for sinusitis - I refuse to take antibiotics at this stage in my pregnancy, but am open to natural antibiotic-type things. I had almost kicked my cold and then last night my sinuses got all congested and I googled (of course) and have all the symptoms except fever (and I don't get fevers). I have resorted to panadol because it hurts so much but it's not helping. I've tried the head over the bowl thing and it didn't do much.

HELP .

Saline washes up the nose help a bit and also help to clear mucus.

I have sure fire method of clearing out the sinuses.........chop onions, the stronger the better. I'm not having you on, it really does work and will be totally harmless for bub:tup:

What Kimble said. 1 teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water and snort it up your nose.

I had this recently. How pregnant are you? I used to worry about panadol but if you're in a later stage I wouldn't worry. Drink heaps and heaps of water.. like you're not already peeing for Australia!

When I am desperate I squirt bicarb mixed in water up my nose. I does work, not very pleasant. To boost your immune system take liquid echinacea and olive leaf extract daily. This is what I do.

let your obstitrician /doc know before taking echinacea or any herbal remedies. They're wonderful usually but during pregnancy can be just as dangerous as any other medication. I was really surprised when my doctor (who has a naturopath in the same surgery so they're very open minded) said to stay off most herbal teas, mint and chamomile were ok, so I gave it all away with most of the essential oils I had too.

I'd personally stick with panadol and drink a heck load of water (and ask your doc if you can use that children's vapour rub)
