Hi

I was wondering if anyone had advice on the treatment for bruises. I fell off my scooter:( and have several large bruises that are technicolor. I know I should probably have started treating them immediately but all I could think of was ice and as I spent 1hr in emergency waiting for a few stitches in my elbow it was a bit late to get ice on when I got home. I am prepared to try anything!

I use arnica cream which is also available from a health food store. It also takes away muscle soreness, when used a minimum of twice a day. Hope your feeling better soon

thankyou every-one! I really appreciate your responses.
Ill get some of both tomorrow from the health store. I assume the arnica taken internally is in a tea form? It sounds yummy!

I bought some Arnica cream today for my son who has a badly bruised leg. Check the Use By Date as some places keep old stock. I hope all of your "ouchies" get better very soon.

No, arnica is taken as a homoeopathic, either as a liquid or tiny sugar pillules. You need to get on to the homoeopathics quickly, I find them more effective than the topical creams (which are the ones that can't go on broken skin). Look amongst the tissue salt and the Brauer's brand products.

You can also just make a poultice from the comfrey if you have it growing in your garden. Works a treat (have tried it).

You can get Arnica cream/tablets/oral spray.

Also good if you have to go have some wisdom teeth out - start taking Arnica (tablet or spray) about a week before you go in to hospital. This was actually advised by a nephews dental surgeon.

By the way, why do so many people these days have to have their wisdom teeth removed?

i have no idea why the wisdom teeth are being extracted. One of my sons had a few of his removed. Maybe it's like caesarians. When I was nursing and working in a gynaecological theatre, they were fairly unusual and only done in an emergency. Now it's different, you still have the emergency caesars but there are a lot of elective caesars too. So maybe the same is happening with wisdom teeth, people have them out because they can.

My hubby has had his wisdom teeth out & a few of my friends also,.. the reasons were because they were coming through the wrong way (pointing in the wrong direction) & causing major discomfort.

I haven't got mine yet.. wonder if I will ever get them
