Hi! I'm new to all this and have tried to post this message already but don't know where it has gone  so I'm trying once again. I have a friend who has been recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and is open to any alternative treatments. I did see a post in this category posted 3 years ago about Vitamin B17 and a site called love hope and faith was recommended. Does anyone know anything more about this site? I'm open to any suggestions on any treatments that people know of that might work or can recommend?

A lady I worked with her BIL took Bicarb soda in warm water every 4 hours
He was told he would die over 5 years ago but is still here.
I also saw the same think on Doomsday Preppers a guy was talking about it.

My sister ate apple seeds as she was told it was good for people who had cancer. but I think by the time she found out she had it. It was too far gone in her body. She lived 5 months from being told she had lung cancer but she was a heavy smoker and started smoking Chop chop tobacca that I think was the beginning of the disease

I don't know anything much about it, but the website is here: http://www.lovehopefaith.com.au/cancer_attack_pack.htm. I have heard of people eating apricot kernels to prevent cancer and treat it, but don't know if it works.

I also know of a site that recommends megadoses of vitamin C, along with other vitamins and minerals plus green tea, but again I don't know if that works either. It can't hurt though. Here's the link: http://www.wha-www.org/en/course/index.php?mod=14&page=10&chapter=4

Interesting! I'd never heard of that before, but I remember going on the Hay diet for a while, which was supposed to cure lots of things (such as arthritis) because it makes the blood more alkaline. Bicarb would do the same. I did a bit of snooping about and found this: http://sodiumbicarbonate.imva.info/index.php/cancer-treatment/baking-soda-every-cancer-patients-best-friend/ There's also a section (under Effects) on warnings and contraindications, but it looks like a promising thing. (And one the pharmaceutical companies would absolutely hate, of course!)

Thank for all your help. Been doing lots of research. Friend is trying bi-carb and concentrating on having a more alkaline diet. Also looking at apricot kernels.
But hows this: She had her visit with oncologist the other day and he of course advised her on chemo. He gave her 2 types of treatments to choose from. One type he recommended as the better one for her(especially for her case-lung cancer) BUT she would have to pay for it all out of her own pocket. The Govt. won't subsidize this chemo treatment UNLESS she has the other (less effective) treatment first!!
They will then subsidize both treatments for her!!
She also offered, to going on any new clinical trial treatments that were available, and was told that she wouldn't be eligible until she had first tried every other treatments!! LOL!
How frustrating would that be for the researchers! They wouldn't get very good results, as by the time people tried all the other treatments their immune systems would be so impaired!
Hmn! Interesting??!! Seems Govt. doesn't want you to get better?
She has been told that she need to make a decision within the week, she told them she needed more time and would let them know in 2 weeks.
Will keep you posted.

I'm sorry to hear the bad news.

I don't know about it personally from experience, but I've been a fan of the Wellness Warrior - she apparently defeated cancer by using Gerson Therapy.

It can't hurt for your friend to have a look - may find some inspiration and if it helps, it's worth trying.

I hope it helps somehow and wish the best for your friends recovery.

personally if I had cancer, I'd remove all grains and sugars from my diet. I'd replace with organic vegetables and grass fed meats (including organ meats). The former feeds cancer, I believe. (As this is the way I eat, I'm fairly confident of not getting cancer)

Apologies if this gets posted twice - I posted a few minutes ago but it seems to have disappeared. Anyway, I was pointing out that some doubts have been raised about the findings of the China Study, such as here: rawfoodsos.com/2010/07/07/the-china-study-fact-or-fallac/ (plus a lot more on that site). I haven't done my own research on the book, but this looks well researched IMHO. It's long, but basically points out that the data were very carefully selected, and any results that suggested plant based foods were bad or animal based foods were good were deliberately disregarded, and therefore the conclusions are doubtful to say the least

I don't know about B17, but Zeolyte is a naturally occurring mineral which, in a small study in the US, showed remission in 75%? of Stage 4 terminal cancer sufferers. It is marketed under Natural Cellular Defense by Waiora in the US. A naturopath here in Brisbane recommended it for detoxing of heavy metals a few years back.

I know of a doctor in Sydney who used Reliv products when he was diagnosed with cancer and when he went in for his operation to remove the cancer, they did an ultra-sound and couldn't find it. PM me if you'd like to know more.

No from what I have seen the China study was conducted with a lot of integrity.
I think there are interests that don't like the results and are doing their best to discredit it.
The researchers were not paid by private corporations and they were not looking for certain results.
Rather were just wanting to see what the data would tell them.
Its best to read The China Study for yourself .
It makes too much sense to be anything but true.

Thanks guys! :) Ive been busy shopping and cooking for my friend. She is trying to stay on a good alkaline based diet, but is finding it difficult as lots of well meaning visitors keep bringing her unhealthy foods ie cakes, biscuits breads etc. that are soo tempting to her. She says she is still taking the bi-carb, she has decided against chemo and is undecided wether to take the apricot kernels. She is looking a bit better and doesn't need her oxygen as often.
So fingers crossed.

Having watched my father die of secondary liver cancer and being scientifically trained, it really hurts me to see the quackery that is passed on. At best a lot of it has a placebo effect or absolutely no effect, at worst it stops people from accessing recognised medical treatment. It is up to everyone to choose whether they want to go the chemo/radiation therapy route if it is recommended, but watching someone you love desperately grasping at straws for 18months to try to hang on to life (and losing money to charlatans in the process) is heart breaking.

I'm so sorry threedogs my sympathy goes out to you  - seeing anyone die of cancer is extremely heartbreaking. :(
Thank you for your thoughts and I really do appreciate your concern. My friend coincidently has worked all her life as a scientist - hence her hesitation re taking the apricot kernels and I respect her decision. She was told if she had chemo it would extend her life by only 2 months. So this doesn't leave her much choice, as her quality of life would be greatly compromised by the treatment. So I don't know why they even bothered to recommend it? I can't imagine what mixed feelings she is experiencing as I never and hope to never be in her position. I do know that even if its a placebo affect it would be better than nothing. There is evidence that the mind can be a powerful tool in helping the body to heal not to mention helping her to cope. After all a lot of people benefit from prayer, yoga, meditation etc.. Yes unfortunately there are people too ready to make money out of people when they are most vulnerable. Alternative treatments shouldn't cost much - after all most of it is usually using comensense and basic natural simple products (some have been used for years and some the pharmaceutical co's make a lot of money out of!)
I'm not against conventional medicine. I believe there can be a place for both conventional and alternative (in fact I used a home birth doctor to have home births in hospital for both my children 28 yrs ago, which was very against the norm at that time! And turned out to be the best thing ever!) Its just unfortunate that our conventional medical system is heavily controlled and influenced by our govt as well as by the large pharmaceutical co's, who as a big business, sadly, their top priority is only to make money.
